I am so excited to share this sunset painting time lapse video with you all today. This work was painted from a photograph that my wife took while we were on vacation last year in Vermont. We sat on the boardwalk in beautiful downtown Burlington on the banks of Lake Champlain, watching the sun slowly sink towards the horizon. It had been overcast all day, but the clouds began to break right as the sun reached the tops of the Adirondack mountains on the New York side across the water.
Both my wife and I enjoy using the filters on Instagram to adjust our photos (contrast, brightness...), which tends to format the image into a square shape. I recently purchased several square 12x12inch canvases and thought that this photo would be perfect to paint on one! It took me several hours to get the coloring just the way I wanted, but in the end it was well worth the effort!
