During our trip to beautiful Vermont a few weeks ago, we had the opportunity to head north into Canada and visit the thriving city of Montréal. I say that it was a “thriving” metropolis due to all the construction that we ran into on that day— several new skyscrapers were underway not to mention all the roadwork. Fortunately, one of my wife’s Aunts who had visited the city several times before graciously offered to act as our guide and traveled with us.
We began our exploration at the magnificent “L'Oratorie Saint Joseph Du Mont-Royal,” an
impressive church built in a gothic style. We then drove across town to “Vieux-Montréal,”
the old part of the city. Finding parking proved a challenge, but eventually we
made it to the cobblestone streets of the old section, constructed in the style
of the great European cites. It was like walking into the past or suddenly
finding yourself on the set of a film. Montréal afforded many photo
opportunities of the grandiose architecture, like the impressive “Notre-Dame Basilica”
overlooking the “Place d'Armes” square, and I was excited to see some of the
views that I was able to capture during the trip. Despite the traffic and
construction, we had an amazing time exploring Montréal, and I hope that you
enjoy this photo set:
