Guest Artist Dave Usher: Intro to Watercolor Painting

Today, it is my great pleasure to feature the work of an accomplished artist and friend of mine, Dave Usher. Usher is a professional artist with over 40 years of experience. Now retired, he continues to paint on a daily basis, sharing his work with the world through social media and YouTube, as well as giving live painting demonstrations to local art groups. He currently utilizes the mediums of Watercolor and Acrylic in his paintings (previously he worked with Oil as well).

He has a keen eye for color, as well as a great sense of depth, perspective and composition in his art. He works from his home studio in England, creating new artwork from his own imagination, memories of places that he has visited in his life, and from photographs that he takes on his weekly bike rides along the banks of the Wandle River in the southern part of London.

Usher has a thriving YouTube Channel with new videos uploaded almost daily—an amazing outpouring of art. This past week he created the following video (included here with the artist’s permission) for his channel as an introduction for beginning artists on how to create a lovely landscape using watercolor paint. Please enjoy watching this video of a masterful artist at work with explanation of each of the steps along the way!
